TRANSPORTATION PROJECT SOCIO-ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

EPG Victoria conducts socio-economic analysis for both highway and marine transportation projects.  These projects are conducted for government departments, for businesses, and for development corporations.  The analysis is intended to document the socio-community and socio-economic impacts of transportation  projects.  Specific work program steps vary among projects, but can involve some or all of the following tasks:

  • Define the scope of work and socio-economic issues

  • Conduct situation analysis

  • Prepare community profiles

  • Define both construction and operations issues

  • Interview stakeholders

  • Analyze impacts of project on the community

  • Use socio-community analysis to refine the transportation project

  • Develop measures to mitigate community impacts

The following projects have been conducted in British Columbia, Canada.
