TOURISM PLANNING STUDIES

EPG Victoria has been conducting tourism planning studies and analysis since the early 1980s.  These projects are usually conducted for government agencies or not for profit corporations.  They are typically intended to document and define tourism issues, and to recommend implementation tactics or procedures.  Specific work program steps vary by project, but can involve some or all of the following tasks:

  • Define problems or issues

  • Develop a project methodology

  • Conduct situation analysis

  • Access and review secondary sources

  • Conduct surveys of participants/users

  • Interview stakeholders

  • Analyze trends

  • Conduct analysis of findings

  • Formulate conclusions and recommendations
